Background
Bay Valley Medical Group has served the
East Bay community since 1954 and is one of the few physician-owned, independent
medical groups in northern California. Bay Valley Medical Group provides high
quality, multi-specialty health care with a long-term commitment to the physical
and emotional well being of its patients. Bay Valley Medical Group was the first
medical group in northern California to receive accreditation by The Medical
Quality Commission.
Bay Valley Medical Group consists of an integrated group practice of 30
physicians and a "wrap-around" independent physician association (IPA)
of 340 affiliate physicians. These health care professionals represent most
medical specialties in the following cities: Castro Valley, Danville, Fremont,
Hayward, Livermore, Newark, Pleasanton, San Lorenzo, San Leandro, San Ramon and
Union City.
Bay Valley Medical Group is managed by Bay Valley Management, Inc. Bay Valley
Management is a management services organization dedicated to implementing
policy and overseeing business operations for the medical group as well as for
our affiliated IPA.
Bay Valley Medical Group holds nine capitated managed care contracts and
numerous other agreements with PPO's, medicare and private commercial groups.
The total patient base served is 50,000. Membership and revenues have been
increasing on average at 15% annually during the past several years.
Bay Valley upholds the philosophy that physicians, working together, can most
effectively lead the delivery of health care. The continuing independence of Bay
Valley Medical Group, while other organizations merge or restructure, is derived
from stable governance, conservative fiscal management and prudent planning. |
